Just to be clear, I am not against people owning guns. I grew up with guns and have lived with guns. There are many reasons why someone might need or want a gun. My family includes military and police officers, farmers who have a need to protect stock, hunting guides, etc. All of these people have and use guns, and I see nothing wrong with that. None of them would think of taking a gun into a grocery store, unless still in uniform and picking up some milk for the kids on the way home. They would see no reason for it because they are sane, rational people. I am not afraid of guns. Guns are tools. I am most definitely afraid of the sort of person who wears a gun as if it were a banner - part of a costume - and seems to be trying to be Rambo. These people scare me. Not the guns - the people.
