Just to be clear on a matter... I am not overly concerned about a presidents use of executive orders. It is an important tool that can be effectively used to shape a government during the presidency. My caution is with the underlying philosophy that drives the use of executive orders. When the basis of thought is flawed, any shaping of government that flows from it will be flawed. Flawed government is dangerous to the health of the nation. The issue then becomes how to determine what constitutes a flawed basis of thought. I believe that issue is resolved by a mindset that intentionally discovers and yields to the teaching of Jesus and the respects and honors legal parameters of the Constitution. One of my readers recently judged me to be a fool for holding such an opinion. So be it then...a fool for believing Jesus can positively influence our government. I can live with that.
