Just to clarify, 64% of worldwide mink fur production and 56% of worldwide fox fur production come from European farms. China is actually outdistanced in total fur production by its European counterparts. So before we fix our mouths to say something about barbaric Chinese fur videos that are circulating, lets consider where most fur is coming from and mind our not-so-thinly-veiled racism. And before anybody uses the criticism that fur production is fueled by Chinese demand as the largest importer, lets examine the fact that this growing Chinese trend is fueled by mimicking Western constructions of middle and upper class. Also, if we want to point fingers at who creates the largest demand, it still comes back to Westerners when it comes to meat consumption...which is the biggest and most obvious exploitation of nonhuman animals of all. #AntiAsianBigotry #DecolonizeYourActivism #RacismBegetsSpeciesism
