Just to clarify for those of you who are seeing my pics.... Spencer is not going active service in the Navy until after college. He is going to PVAMU on a Naval ROTC scholarship, which will obligate him to 6 years of service post-graduation. However, the scholarship recipients are sworn in to the Navy as midshipmen, and are considered to be inactive reserve for the time being. There are some military perks that are afforded to the scholarship recipients, and they are required to go on one-month tours during their summers while in college, during which time, for that one month, they are considered active. But for now, hes a college kid, heading into an engineering program with a minor in military science. When he graduates, he will enter the Navy as an officer. :-) It was a good and proud day for us, to say the least. And he looks damn good in his uniform...
