Just to fill everyone in on whats going on: As many already know, our court date (which was for today) was canceled. Today was supposed to be the big one that would tell us our fate. Well, thanks to the power of prayer and an almighty God, we have more time. Our attorney also informed us of a better way to go about this. They suggest that my husband signs a voluntary departure saying that he will willingly leave the US of his own volition, that way there wont be a deportation against him for the future. Before he leaves, we are filing an I-130 asking for residency since he is married to a citizen and has three children. We will also be filing a waiver that basically says, yes, I came to this country illegally, but forgive me and please dont ban me for ten years because I have a family. If they grant this waiver he will only have to stay in Mexico for about a year. Enough time for them to process and approve the I-130. If they do not approve the waiver, he will be punished with a ten year ban, but will then be able to return to the US as a permanent resident. This isnt over yet, but this gives us hope. Please pray that the consulate will accept and grant the waiver and give him residency.
