Just to let all my friends know quickly that I am home and after X-rays at the hospital and commiserations with my surgeon, he was reluctant to operate as he said my knees were doing brilliantly! There had actually not been a dislocation which I had experienced before with the other knee and apparently X-rays showed everything was where it should be. So what caused the excruciating pain last week ? Probably osteophytes floating around the joint and he thinks one of them may have got wedged in between the joint causing acute pain but it had corrected itself. He wants me to take part in a new trial at the Charing Cross Hospital the first week in January where they are testing the latest electronic sound systems attached to the knees to analyse the sounds. Each sound tells a different story. He congratulated me on my own recovery and told me to keep on going with my exercise and yoga programme as it is clearly working. Sorry if the explanation is a bit long winded but I know some of you lovely friends are anxious to hear from me and I am feeling so shattered after travelling since 4 am Tuesday morning without sleep and painful shingles.......I have crashed out and here I will stay relaxed and grateful for the next few days. Of course I shall be getting in touch personally in the next couple of days and I have some urgent responsibilities to take care of. I thank you all for your support in the meantime ...It has been wonderful. Now for some relaxing TV and a beautiful sleep.......
