Just turn on community TV and take a look at the programs they are - TopicsExpress

Just turn on community TV and take a look at the programs they are producing. Take a moment to consider who the programs are for and who they are made by... The programs are community tv programs for a reason, because they service the local communities in which they are made. People in other cities let alone around the other side of the world are not interested in much of our community TV so how is the internet a good platform that will increase viewership. The internet is a platform where much of the programming will be lost, which will in turn lose sponsorship dollars and either the community tv channels will need to turn professional and start producing content with a broad audience or die... now go back to the question of who makes the shows on community tv? 90% of the people who make the shows are volunteers. They are uni students and film makers that have drive to succeed in the film and tv industry so they dedicate many hours, week after week to producing tv shows, without being paid a cent. There is nowhere else that provides this service and internet community tv is a very different thing which will destroy much of the community television culture that has been fostered over so many years.
