Just two years ago The Tower Club in Tulsa met on the top (52nd) floor of the tallest building in Oklahoma, The Williams Tower. The club still meets there, but the building is no longer the tallest, the Devon Tower in OKC is. Seeing the new tower grow atop the OKC skyline, I wonder if the Devon Energy Toastmasters Club has thought of moving to the top of that new building. The club chartered on December 1, 2004. Kelly Hilburn Joined a year later. He is Immediate Past President. Recently he was voted by the Devon Energy club as the clubs Outstanding Toastmaster of the Year. He has been working both the Leadership and Communications tracks of the Toastmaster program and has achieved the ACB, ALB Education level. He is getting close to being a Distinguished Toastmaster. The club is also doing well. Unlike community clubs, corporate clubs are tough in that they must get their members from what they have locally inside the company. Devon Energy has done that. They have 5 goals met and are adding members. In the picture current president and founder of the club Rhonda Russell is presenting CSAA Kelly Hilburn the clubs Toastmaster of the Year certificate. District 16 Toastmasters needs people like Kelly Hilburn. Kelly Hilburn is my April 3, 2014 Toastmaster of the Day.
