Just typed this for family... Hey, Mandy will probably post an update later but Im sending this for now!!! She had a busy day! Tons of drs., nurses, therapist, and LSU med students for all of these positions in and out!! They moved her to three feedings through the tube a day. They downsized her trachea today and are capping it to do a sleep study tonight. First steps in removing the trachea!! She had speech therapy today- really as an evaluation. In PT, she stood up and even took 10 steps with some help balancing. In OT, she was tired but answered all that was asked of her, like show the therapist where she was touching grace, lift her hand, etc. tomorrow she has a longer day(see attached pic) Side note: sense of humor moment: earlier this morning she was smiling at me and I said, I see that smile, even the right side has a little smile! She took her hand/fingers and moved her right side of her mouth really big to make a big smile!! I told her she was being a SA - our thing for smart ass!! It was great!! At times, you can see she is discouraged and even embarrassed. She is so aware now!! Im really proud of her!! She is wonderful!! Please continue to pray for her brain to heal and for God to give Grace strength, peace, courage, and determination during rehab! #pushwithgraciebean
