Just want to clear this up since I have been getting a lot of questions about it lately: Paleo is not a zero carb diet. Yes, we avoid refined sugars and limit unrefined, concentrated sugars when possible. Yes, we avoid grains and legumes. However, it is okay and highly encouraged to plenty of vegetable matter, of which some may be fruit and some may be starchy veggies which are higher in carbohydrate. If youre an athlete or performance-minded individual, eating more carbs than a sedentary person is important. Please do not confuse basic Paleo with a ketogenic protocol. Being in ketosis requires a lot of dedicated work and tracking and is not for everyone. Being lower carb does not mean you are automatically in ketosis.
