Just want to mention to my neighbors and passerbyers that I have some of my goats in a new field closer to the road here. They are grazing under the watchful eye of my Livestock Guardian Dog named Baris who is very bonded to his charges, and very protective of the stock. That said I would like to remind those who may not know, that he is a LIVESTOCK GUARDIAN ~ not a GUARD DOG. He instinctively protects his flock / herd from predators ( including the domestic dog ) Not from humans. But with that said, please know his job is a very serious one ~ I do not recommend off leash dogs in this area. Baris will not breach the fence to protect his charges, but if your dog breaches the fence to gain access to the stock, or runs the fenceline from the outside chasing my stock, it is not going to be good. Baris is a loving and gentle boy, and should at all times be left alone to work. Please do not call him, or try to catch his attention, do not try to pet him over the fence, do not distract him from his job. Again, he is gentle and sweet, but working dogs should be left to their work. But please, let me know if you have any concerns or questions. However, please enjoy the beautiful sight of my lovely goats, safely grazing with their fierce protector, please respect Baris and all his magnificence, and please let your guests, family and friends know to respect him also.
