Just wanted to ask for some advice. We adopted a little girl last - TopicsExpress

Just wanted to ask for some advice. We adopted a little girl last November. We adopted her, because we knew she had the sniffles and were concerned that nobody else would adopt her. Unfortunately, our previous vet wasnt entirely helpful (e.g. suggested 4 weeks of Baytril, regardless of the fact we told them that she had been on Baytril previously. 1 1/2 weeks ago, we took her to our new vet who took a swap. The results came back and as expected it is Pasteurella, and the good news is that it will respond to a variety of anti-biotics. My question is, our little girl is still very aggressive and not very well handled (we believe she spent most of her time in a small cage before she came to us) and we only could give her her Baytril by putting it on her pellets. She now has gone off the pellets, and I would be reluctant to put it on something else (she has become a difficult eater, and she also doesnt seem to like hay (we tried several very expensive options). With regards to the treatment, our vet suggested that, the antibiotic could be given orally (obviously difficult), one of the antibiotics could also be injected, or as a third option nebulised (in a box with the anti-biotic applied steam. Does anybody have any ideas what the best option may be or to rephrase, has anybody any knowledge of injections/nebuliser.
