Just wanted to clarify my personal intentions with the no make-up/no filter selfie for anyone with negative feed back on this new awareness tactic. By no means are these pictures being brave by baring our naked faces. Yes, they may be even a little silly. BUT, social media has allowed all of us to now raise awareness in several different ways! I dont care if your way of supporting awareness is showing up at a fundraising event, being a team member of Relay for Life, or standing by a loved one who is battling with cancer. ANY SUPPORT IS BETTER THAN NO SUPPORT. If that means having tons of girls plastering your newsfeed with selfies, than so be it! It may not be raising any money or directly helping with funding the research to find a cure, but it is opening everyones eyes to how many lifes this disease has effected. And maybe thats all it will take to get more people involved in joining teams or getting more involved in other ways. Cancer sucks, period. So keep up the support ladies!
