Just wanted to give an update on my mom. She is home and is still very weak and tired. She eats well when you put food in front of her, but you cant ask her if she is hungry because she will always say no. She has actually gained a pound or two since coming home from the hospital. I have noticed over the last week that her dementia is getting much worse. It used to just be asking the same questions over and over which was irritating at times but I knew she couldnt help it. Now she has progressed to putting things in strange places. I always leave her a couple Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits on the counter each morning with a note telling her how to warm them up in the microwave. When I asked her yesterday if she had eaten them she told me she had eaten one and was saving the other one for later. Last night while cooking dinner, Dwayne put some trash in the can and pulled out the package of biscuits to show me. I asked him if she had thrown them away and he said no......I found them in the drawer this morning. Now Ive gone from being irritated with her questions, to being heartbroken at her actions. Its such a terrible disease and to top it off with how sick and feeble she has become is really hard to watch. Just believing and trusting that God has a plan. Im so thankful for all of my friends who have been there for her and supported me in the process. I can never repay you for your love and kindness.
