Just wanted to give an update to those asking...we dont have a final number for our 1st Annual Hydro Angels Over America Walk because of a little techinical difficulty with the internet...but so far we are right around the five thousand dollar mark!! There is no way Kassie Lambeth and I could have done this without our wonderful community and the other Hydro Families!! Big Star donated all of the hot dogs and Mary Postawait donated her husband to cook them!! Plus we had gift cards from....Mitchs, Walmart, Sissys, BuckStop Pawn, Burger Barn and Smokehouse, Brandons Nails, La Cabana Mexican Restaurant Jena, plus several gift items from Town and Country. My wonderfully talented Aunt Cora Wilkinson donated a quilt to be raffled off....Bingo Brewer donated one of his great fire pits to be raffled( Mary Brewer ) Hays Lumber donated a smoker to be raffled, JNAR donated all water plus a monatary donation, Reids Jewelry donated several items for door prizes, Kays Audio donated a radio and tshirt, and if I am not mistaken LaSalle General did a tshirt fundraiser. Jena Police Department donated their time, officers, and dunking booth as a fund raiser where the DA also volunteered :) ( Marsheela Jordan Walters ) The art club from the Jena High School donated their time for facepainting!! This says a lot for these teenagers to get up early on a Saturday and donate their time for this!! We also had other teenage volunteers to help with the check in but I didnt get their names. Our wonderful Mayor came out at a last moments notice to welcome everyone....Bro. Gary Wagoner opened us in Prayer...and Stacy Chapman did a GREAT job on the Nathional Anthem. Mary Postawait was a HUGE part in getting the word out...she spent many many hours going around town getting the word out, taking pictures, and videos.The Corley farm animals donated part of their time there and The Dotsons were kind enough to donate their jumper for the day. Countless volunteers! Triangle pharmacy, Cledas, Honeycutts, Nannete gave a gift card to her embroidery shop (Custon Creations) I also want to say that there is no way we could have done this without our families!! I know at my house we ate out a lot because there was no time to cook....Kynzer sat in on many meetings...which he didnt mind because he LOVED eating with Mary Postawait :) Ginger Randall Phillips and Kathy Deason Lambeth gave up their lunch breaks for meetings on many days. Many many people baked cakes and cookies for the cake walk and bake sale...I dont have a list of names for that other than Beverly Benson Young....but thank you all!! If I have left anyone out I am so sorry...please add them in the comments or let me know and I will add them. Thank you to EVERYONE that had part in making this day a HUGE SUCCESS!!
