Just wanted to pop up and say Hi and give you guys a lil snippet - TopicsExpress

Just wanted to pop up and say Hi and give you guys a lil snippet of the chapter I am currently working on entitled Be grateful for what you wish for. Keep me in your prayers that I will be able to wrap this up by Thanksgiving. God bless and see you soon :D One of the greatest misconceptions cultivated within the flawed human heart is holding fast to the notion that having everything you wish for in the physical realm will satisfy the innermost longings of your soul or may even completely fulfill you. But it never will. A carefully orchestrated work of the enemy has always been to keep people in a perpetual state of desire for goals which are temporarily out of reach. It is his hope that they will spend every waking moment on a quest for satisfaction, never realizing that the eternally ineffective gain usually results in a dry, bitter disillusionment of what they initially believed life would be like for them once they arrived. Now, I am not speaking against having goals or dreams or desires. I wouldnt be writing this if I was. What I want to emphasize is that the majority are under the impression that if they acquire love and success in this temporal existence, in whatever form it is embraced, they have ultimately achieved it all. In this “dog eat dog” world, the hunt can become vicious and the stakes are high. Dogs can quickly become ravenous wolves over a dry bone, simply because the smell of the meat still lingers there. Getting what we want and how we want it has, in many ways, taken the place of what we truly need and what is actually good for us. In turn, many spend their lives grasping at what their deceitful hearts beckon for them, and what their minds envision as happiness without considering the consequences and without pondering what may become of them if they obtained all they ever wanted. It is no secret that suicide and drug addiction are two of the leading causes of death among some of the most influential figures of our time, whether rock stars, artists, authors, or even powerful politicians. I suggest that the root cause of this is the fact that we are spirit beings as well as physical beings, and if the spirit is sick, it matters not what the balance is in the checking account, how many awards they have won, or even who loves them. The condition of the spirit man will always dictate what becomes of that individual, because it is the core of who we are, the driving force which decides our path, and the only thing which carries any significant eternal weight. The lack of understanding in regards to this becomes a picnic in the park for the enemy of our soul, who knows that keeping his subjects occupied with their vain physical and monetary aspirations in most cases leads to spiritual death. And since the craving never ceases, he can rest assured they will continue to aimlessly seek satisfaction with little or no threat to his kingdom. Even if they are able to surpass the common man in accomplishing their ambitions, he is secure in the knowledge that without a genuine relationship with the Creator of their soul, the end result will amount to nothing but dissatisfaction, regret, and an overwhelming emptiness. The chances are high they may ponder their negligence of what was the most important aspect of the human existence while nearing their death. And sadly enough, in many cases, even into eternity.
