Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the businesses in Porthleven that have purchased metres of pound coins around the harbour to kick start our Power Of The Pound event at the harbour tomorrow. We aim to place as many pound coins around the harbour as possible over the weekend for charity. Ali Calvert who works in Costcutters single handedly built a pre school in The Gambia and has fund raised solely since it has been open, to maintain the school pay the teachers and give the small children if The Gambia the chance of an education. We are a very small group of people who have put together this event to make a big difference and we need your help! Ali is often found in local schools teaching about The Gambia to educate our young, and gives countless hours of her time to make the world a better place. Please help us in our mission and visit the harbour tomorrow to place down a pound and watch the markers move around the harbour as donations come in! There will be face painting, balloon modelling and a magician from 2-4pm, dance and TBC Records have kindly given their time and organised music at Out Of The Blue from 1pm- 11.30 pm, Sat and Sun. Your change can grow the roots of education, so please just give a tiny amount of time either Sat or Sun to place down just a pound.
