Just wanted to share this. After having a roller coaster year with my boyfriend and also issues with my 17 year old son who I felt totally took me for granted I was feeling pretty down. Then the bf decided Xmas Eve he couldnt/wouldnt do Xmas so hurt and extremely humiliated I had to somehow host the day itself. Got through it somehow. The last week or so though has amazed me. The kids 12-17 have rallied round with their support helping me wherever they could. Hosted a party for them and their mates and not one left my side all day doing jobs. Friends I knew I could rely on gave their support, but what touched me even more were some I hadnt expected, and theyve been golden. Also personal emails from some of you guys on here, you know who you are, read between the lines at my posts, got in touch and gave an ear. Some of you going through dreadful times too. Thank you x But to top it all yesterday that inconsiderate, selfish 17 year old presented me with the most beautiful card, with words that I could have only dreamt he would say, and tickets for the 2 of us at a West End show I have always dreamt of seeing. Hes at college with only a part time job so it must have taken months to save up. So what I am trying to say is when you are feeling desolate, worthless, alone and bereft, hope, light and joy can come in the most unlikeliest moments - hang on in there, there will be light. Oh and I have also learnt that family is far more important than boyfriends/girlfriends and that I was guilty of not putting them first. I shall not make that mistake again. Now SS you can take the usual **** I am on my cloud and not getting off. Happy New Year to you all xxx
