Just wanted to share this with you guys. This morning Emma had to go in to get another bloodwork panel done. A month ago we were at the ER for gastro issues and her liver levels were a bit high. Since she started her prozac and zanax meds last week we did an updated one to be sure shes doing ok. My vet is about 2 blocks away, so we walked. I was nervous about flooding her with fear but her tail was up the whole way. Usually when we go there, she doesnt want to go in. Today (with calm encouragement and treats) she went right in, got on the scale, went under the receptionists desk to give her a sniff and started taking herself in the back! She stopped to greet my vets bc (who is also fearful), and they walked into the exam room together where Emma promptly sat in front of the Dr. while she fed her dried fish treats! My jaw was on the floor. They couldnt believe how much better she was! Before, she would be flat with fear in the corner under the bench (she tried to go there again after the blood test but regained her composure pretty quickly)! After it was over, the other bc (border collie) came in and they hung out together getting treats, Emma sitting nice for the vet! Then I ran home with her playfully and gave her some of the new treats we bought there. I am so happy about this! We have visited there a few times on walks, either going in to pick up treats or me just stopping by the door and feeding her treats. It definitely works!!! There is hope :) Now just crossing fingers her bloodwork is ok.
