Just wanted to stop in and say I got my 20 year pin in the mail today. Im 26. Guiding has almost literally been my life. There are many times, especially lately, where I struggle with this organization - sometimes its the bureaucracy, sometimes its the people whove forgotten the Sisterhood - but I have to remember the times that keep me here. The girls I lead and the changes theyre making in their lives and the world; my fellow Guiders who are solid, amazing women who give everything they have; the women and girls who Ive traveled, planned and cried with; and the women Im still yet to meet, those dying for adventure and a good laugh. These people are why I stay. Ive been in Guiding for nearly my whole life because of the wonderful women I get to meet. So if you only take one thing away from this message, remember that youre here to meet us and were here to meet you. Were the Sisterhood of Guiding and we can all (hopefully) know where this comes from: Ive tucked away a song or two If youre feeling low, theres one for you If you need a friend, then I will come And theres many more, where I come from Be kind, be a friend, were stronger than a community, were a Sisterhood.
