Just wanted to take a moment to thank our sponsors thus far: Yard Gear - discount on safety gear and rental fees The Sign Post - discount on sign and banner Scholtens - meeting space for Development Committee and water/ice for volunteer day this month Reagans Home Construction - discount on parking lot and driveway CJ Munn - donation of safety kit (chain saw edition) If you have an opportunity to support these businesses please let them know you are aware/thankful for their contributions to the Hanwell Recreational Park project. If you know other businesses who are able to help out please ask them to contact Chris Weadick. Looking for lumber (even if rough cut, doesnt have to be finished, preference would be cedar/hemlock), refreshments, sponsor volunteer BBQ or co-ordinate a volunteer night/day at the park for folks to come out and help, etc. A HUGE thank-you goes out to the many volunteers that have helped out over the last few months. We are making impressive progress and it is all because of YOU. Estimate for a business to clear part of the trail was a minimum of $60k per km... it is a lot of work but also a great way to meet others in Hanwell and leave a legacy as well as some good physical fitness and even some fresh air vs those office spaces... come on out if you havent already... and if you have... come on out again... it is addictive to be out in the woods and relaxed opportunity to make a difference. I am tracking folks who do volunteer just so we can have a means of thanking those who do volunteer so it is being acknowledged and will be documented in our meeting minutes and part of the park history. We can also provide tax receipts for donations to the park. We have not pushed this yet but if you are someone who wants to donate funds to the park you will receive a tax deductable receipt and 90% of the funds go to the park, 10% is maintained by NBTrails for admin and projects including the consulting they do with the various parks in NB... but when making a donation, if we specify the funds are for the Hanwell Recreational Park then the funds go to our park vs any of the other NBTrail parks/trails. Likely hear more about this in the fall and spring. thank-you! Chris Weadick
