Just wanted to throw this suggestion out there if anyone is thinking about cutting their hair to danate it. In my opinion Children With Hair Loss is the best route to go. They are a great nonprofit organization out of Michigan. Their motto is Covering Young Heads to Heal Young Hearts. It was created as a resource for ALL CHILDREN who have medically-related hair loss. There is absolutely no cost whatsoever for the wigs for the family of the children when they need it most. This is for hairloss caused not only by cancer but also Alopecia, burns, Trichotillomania and other rare diseases and disorders. Currently, they provide a customized human hair replacement and care kit to over 300 children a year. I started donating my hair here and will everytime I donate for the rest of my life. And if you cutting your hair around the Corydon, IN area search out Bootie (Lang) Bruner and she will fix you up right. Why not Locks of Love? Many reasons but the one that sticks out the most in my mind is the money one. A little google search will show that although some are sold on a sliding scale depending on income most are sold for between $3,500 and $6,000. That amount of money could be used by the family of the patient in so many other ways. $6 million worth of hair donations to Locks of Love is unaccounted for at the time. What?! Googling this matter will show so much more.
