Just watched Interstellar. This probably explains why Im typing without a head right now (my mind blew back at the cinema). A better name for this movie could perhaps be A Glimpse Into Eternity, because thats precisely (or figuratively) what it is! Brace yourselves, Im gonna geek out over this. And probably will for a few days too. 1) This isnt a film. Its a visual poetry. 2) The whole film revolved around the concept of Time Dilation, General Relativity, and the bending of Spacetime. We all know this is a thing, and this is THE concept a lot of science-geeks (like me) are usually the first to know or understand (even geek out over), but for others its more of a So What? scenario when you explain them how time flows slower in certain conditions and places compared to others. Interstellar weaves that in SPECTACULARLY in its story, and it explains it in ways that even a newbie could understand; it does this by making the concepts as concrete as possible, making the audience not only feel it and hold on to it, but also be hit HARD by it. 3) Murphys Ghost could (and possibly should) be a new trope now! Also Chastain / Murphys Eureka moment.
