Just watched King Arthur again-a great Clive Owen performance as the historical Romanized Briton and his hard-bitten veteran Celtic cavalrymen. Other than Excalibur there is no finer Arthurian exploration on film. Ray Winstone as Bors is just brilliant. Sine my childhood the legend of Arthur and his knights have been central to what resonates in my heart. To fight against evil and struggle for the ideals you hold dewar against overwhelming odds and a world that in the end will engulf you with its inexorable pulkl to darkness for those shining moments that will somehow through song or story be passed on and light that spark in somebody elses soul. Thi idea of being in a band of warriors bound by friendship and honor to fight battles against the impossible resonates in all of us and a few of us who are abnormal never let go of this dream. With that in mind when my sight returns well enough to read without stumbling I will record reading the best damn Arthurian novel ever Parke Godwins Firelord. The writing is heartbreaking in its imagery and mastery of the English language. This is just for me and my family I keep hearing from others how great my voice is...well before I shut the door on this life I want to pass this one thing on.
