Just watched Northern Soul and loved it. Surprised some people were upset by the drug culture highlighted in it. Didnt go to The Wigan Casino, but thats how I remember Manchester in the late sixties. We used to spend all night sat on our scooters outside The Wheel and The Disc and watch the drug cars roll up, flip their boots open, and run a pharmacy out of the boot. To deny it happened isnt right. The all night culture thrived on it! But one thing is for sure. It was about the music and the dancing. It was then, and still is. Listen to the first few bars of a tune and you were hooked for life on Northern. Or you werent. I was and still am forty years on! Here is a good reason why!
