Just watched Requiem For A Dream. Great movie, very sad, but true. Addiction is a disease. I have judged others in the past, because its easier to point a finger and cast a shadow of judgement over them. Instead of realizing that theyre not always in control of their actions, because theyve lost control of their lives. Ive been blessed to make some right choices in life, but its daunting to see others, that I may have grown up around, or not known at all, put themselves in such a dark place. A dark place that they dont think they can escape. So many people with so much potential to do great things. Things way beyond what Im capable of achieving. If you know someone whos addiction is taking over their lives, talk to them before you judge. It only makes that hole deeper, and the light at the end of the tunnel less visible.. If youre reading this, and battling substance abuse, please know, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Always a ladder to climb out of that hole, some may be bigger than others, but its not impossible, you have to get help, but also be willing to change yourself. You control your life.
