Just watched a documentary about hunger in America, A Place at the Table. 50 million Americans suffer from food insecurity, a problem that was nearly eradicated in the late 70s but has come back with a vengeance due in large part to national policies and usda subsidies. Not to mention, low minimum wages and the cycle of poverty. Tonight there are parents putting kids to bed with hungry tummies. I cant even begin to imagine that pain and guilt. Shameful in this land of plenty. I feel compelled to help. What can I do to make a real difference? Are there ways you are volunteering to help make a dent in this problem?
