Just watched a healthy cookery part from the program Lorraine. The meal was a chicken broth with brown rice and broccoli. This is great meal but then the bit come out about cutting brown bread into shapes, spraying them with 1 cal oil and fried :-/ not sure if anyone can see where Im going with this but there are 2 points I would make. 1 - why add fried bread to an already lovely hearty meal with brown rice? 2 - dont be fooled by 1 calorie oil spray. Be very aware of any oil that is used to cook with. All oils have a smoke point when oil loses its chemical structure and becomes refined (trans fates) These trans fats is what gets stored in our system because its simply put to the back of the pile due to the fact its now an unknown chemical structure to our body! 1 cal sprays usually consist of sunflower, vegetable, virgin or extra Virgil oils! These oils are all fine in their natural form when ingested but when heated they are in fact the worst due to their low smoke point! So the end result is, ignore the word light low cal for oils and to be fair most things, as the product will be more natural. When it comes to cooking dont be afraid of animal fats or tropical oils, even though these oils are saturates they are rich in fat soluble vitamins and have a very high smoking point! Double that of virgin oils. Dont be fooled by product proper-gander and eat more natural balanced foods!on that note, remember how things are cooked in most fast foods chains and it will start to make sense on the reasons why they are so bad for you and normally it has nothing to do with the product but simply how its made and cooked before you consume it. Big love and stay healthy :-)
