Just watched an interesting segment on MSNBC about Radio and TV Marti, our efforts to pipe in stuff into Cuba via the airwaves, sort of like Radio Free Europe. However, it hasnt worked too well as Castro is still in power and less than 2% of Cubans have ever seen the television version. Three Republican Presidents had this idea in different forms, Reagan with the radio version, Bush Sr. with the television version and W. with the airplane version device to try to supercede the Cuban efforts to block it. Dont worry, as Republicans hammer wasteful Democrats, the Radio/TV Marti has only cost the American public some 500 million dollars. Now I actually did some research thinking it might be just a MSNBC story to get the GOP but this thing actually existed, or actually still exists, as the program was temporarily defunded by the sequester cuts.
