Just watched the Frontline segment about the NRA. We have elected as our governor the former mouthpiece of the NRA. An organization I once supported as a sportsmens group in charge of gun education and hunting. Now a group that worships guns over human lives. A group that manipulates the fears of gun owners with words that are repulsive to any victim of gun violence. Before I get the usual guns dont kill people, people do response, listen to me, please. Crazy people with guns kill people. Felons kill people. And they use guns to do it. For those that say enforce the laws on the books I clam bs…go to a gun show and get around that crap. Buy a gun from a buddy, nobody knows. I own guns. I support owning guns. I support putting some rules that are reasonable to prevent Colombine etc, and no, dont want to pry your gun from your cold dead body. Gun owners, you are getting played by the NRA. From a Christian perspective, would Jesus be packing heat? People walking around carrying guns dont make me feel safe, they make me feel threatened. As for our newly elected governor, I will keep my expectations low, and my hope high. Lets not become the stereotype the nation tries to make us be…probably said to much, and will piss off a few, but seeing innocents killed at schools really raises my ire, and begs the question, what is more important? Guns or the so-called lives they claim to protect?
