Just watched the Presidents speech on immigration. After so many years of Congressional inaction, I support the Presidents initiative to improve this situation. Congress has had many years to fix the illegal immigration problem and they have failed to act. I personally think that illegal immigration needs to be fixed by the employment system - not by an army of border guards. If getting a job in the U.S. required either proof of citizenship or a work visa, illegal immigration would virtually disappear. Building Fortress U.S.A. with razor wire fences and armed guards from Texas to California seems primitive.
