Just watched the video with the Baggage Dropping going on. Every time I am on a flight, no matter what the airline, I marvel at how much baggage people carry on and wonder why the carry on baggage restrictions are not enforced. Of course there is no excuse for the dropping of baggage but the aircraft is designed for the stated allowances and offers baggage checking for a reason. Has the amount of stuff people are carrying on increased since the introduction of fees for additional checked bags? And if so, does the discomfort of passengers and flight delays cost more than the airlines are making from the fees?
