Just when I thought Local World couldnt be any more ridiculous and irritating, the Post publishes a heap of fact-free bigoted drivel about the supposedly imminent invasion of Bristol by Bulgarians and Romanians. “I don’t want to see social tensions increasing and increasing, says local UKIP-resembling Tory MP Charlotte Lewis in an attempt to justify her blatant Balkanophobia and support for a grotesque amendment to actually extend restrictions on freedom of movement for Bulgarians and Romanians. To which one obvious response might be: Well, if youre so concerned about not increasing social tension, stop stirring up xenophobic paranoia by ranting on about an influx which isnt going to happen and making out that Bulgaria and Romania are culturally so different from the UK and constitute some kind of wilderness off the edge of the map inhabited by people whose sole aim in life is to come to Bristol to claim Jobseekers Allowance - because they dont.
