Just when you think youve seen it all...something happens like the end of Sundays NFC championship game. Has a game ever been more won than that one? Okay… maybe this years Cotton Bowl. Those two have got to be a couple of the most historic comeback/collapses Ive witnessed in all my years of watching sports, and they both occurred in just the last 18 days. Amazing. I guess it just goes to show you that a good team is never truly out of any game. So whos going to win Super Bowl XLIX? The Seahawks will try to become the first repeat winners in a decade. The last team to go back to back? The team they will be playing a week from Sunday in Phoenix, the Patriots. Im picking Seattle to do it again. The main reason is their quarterback, Russell Wilson. I know you probably all think Im nuts to say this, and Im probably the only guy outside of Seattle to think this, but I believe Wilson is the best quarterback in football right now. Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, and Andrew Luck, get all the love from the fans & the media. I think Wilson will outgun Brady, just like he out-performed Manning in the big game last year. All this kid does is win. To play as poorly as he did for almost the entire game Sunday, yet still have the supreme confidence & composure to orchestrate that comeback, tells you that he is something very special. He possesses a lot of that Montana magic. He simply will not accept defeat. Wilson has never lost in his brief three-year NFL career, in 10 games against teams with Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. Hes got a big-time arm, can scramble better than any of those other guys, and is as clutch as they come. If Seattle wins a week from Sunday, hell already own more Super Bowl rings than any of those guys but Brady. Brady BTW, will be starting in his sixth Super Bowl, the most of any quarterback in history. But if the Pats lose, itll be his third straight defeat in the big game, after winning in the first three he played in. I think this may be Brady and Belichicks last hurrah in the Super Bowl. I think itll be a tremendous, close game…potentially one of the best Super Bowls ever. But when the confetti rains down in two weeks in Arizona, I believe the Seahawks reign will continue and Wilson (a 3rd round afterthought in the draft in which Luck and RG3 went 1 & 2) may finally get the respect he deserves. Would love to hear your thoughts and predictions....
