Just wild about Harry... really. Treated myself to a CRIPPLE OF INASHMAAN matinee today, starring the considerable Daniel Radcliffe. It is cruel and beautiful, and so feckin Irish... its repetition, its yearning, its things unsaid, its too much weather and too much drink. Well-made play is sometimes code for old fashioned, but I mean it as a great compliment. Flashes of Anna Christie, Christie Mahon, Judith Hearne -- luckless lovables, all. When the plays tiniest dream comes true, in the very final moments, it is a cruelly beautiful -- and unforgettable -- thing.
