Just wondering . . . Would the people who stridently oppose Obamacare, saying it is a government intrusion in their lives and and infringement on their liberties, put up the same kind of opposition to a proposal to bring back the draft or to institute a public service requirement? Got to admit that Im a strong foe of the draft, which in recent years has sent young men off to fight, and often die, for a cause or regime many did not believe in. Even though I know it would put a brake on military adventurism. Which makes me think of Vietnam, where American draftees were used to prop up Catholic dictators in a mostly Buddhist country. Imagine how Americans would feel if a miltary coup installed Muslim dictators here.
