Just yesterday I was discussing with a friend about how India got Independence rather than questioning the independence in the forms of why, when and where which all becomes negligible in comparison to how. No wonder, he didnt discount the importance of other national leaders such as Netaji S.C. Bose, Bhagat Singh or any other for that matter but he clearly ruled out the possibility of India being independent today considering the fact that Gandhi or Nehru wouldnt have existed in this world. In fact, Gandhi-Nehru combination was excellent, given the ideologies of Gandhi and rich legacy of Nehru. You should first have a good heart followed by patience to deal with the wrong and then next the use of right resources to deal with the wrong (or to convert the wrong into right). Violence is not always the solution. And, I particularly like Mahatma Gandhi for the fact that he was the first person who shed his clothes for the poor woman who was sitting across the river wearing and washing the same clothes. He fought for womens rights. Tell me who would do that today when rapes and molestations have reached a record high in the last few years ? But, the congress couldnt keep their legacy intact, the party kept on deteriorating for several reasons. Today, some other party/persons have taken the same role of Nehru-Gandhi who wants to free us from the clutches of greed, the wrong use of power/corruption, hunger etc. You know who I am talking about ? He has support of the leading industrialists such as Ambanis and a heart to take steps in the right direction(The heart or sole is always considered superior to the mind according to Bhagvad Geeta considering for a moment that the leader lacks any economic sense and was primarily a tea-seller)...
