Justice For Juleah! This is so wrong! An injustice is being done in our society, my daughter is going through hell in Lowendes County Jail in Valdosta, Georgia, in lock down in a very small cell, it is winter and air conditioner is on, yet in the summer it would not work. Lab work and red tape are keeping her from going to rehab, it all comes down to money, all wrapped up in a nut shell. We need to care for our mentally ill, not condemn them, or treat them in an in-just way because we dont know what to do with them. My daughter has not committed a bad crime, she is ill and needs the proper medical attention and care she so deserves. It was her mental condition that caused her to make the decision, to self medicate with marijuana, only because of the illegality of it, she had become indigent caused by a bad relationship, where she was left homeless, in a state far, far away from her home and family in Ohio, she is being discarded like rubbish in a society that locks away the homeless and mentally ill, instead of addressing the real issues and traumatic experiences that put her there in the first place. I have been searching for someone to advocate her case, to help me to help her in this dire time of need, to no avail. I do not have the funds necessary to take care of this matter, as I am on a limited income myself, as I also suffer from time to time with my own mental illness. My daughter has been covered with medicare and medicaid for over ten yrs since her illness began, now she is being neglected and traumatized by the legal system, which should be there to protect her as well as teach her a lifes lesson. My daughter is 5ft 10in tall, weighed 170lbs 7mths ago at her arrest, she has lost close to 70lbs since then, weighing a frail 100lbs, just skin upon bone. She is in a small cell all alone, with a slab for a bed and a blanket, no pillow, no books to read, and no one to talk to! How can justice prevail? In a situation such as hers, someone needs to step in and take a closer look, she is quite, no she is extremely ill mentally, physically and spiritually exhausted, and under suicide watch. How can we, as a society, or as a community just turn our heads and our hearts and just look the other way? Just sweep these people under the carpet, so no one notices, no one sees, and no one hears their cries or pleas? Is this what honor and justice is about? My daughter is just one among the many outcasts of our society, it has come down to this, the throw aways? I dont think so! I will carry on and fight until my last breath, to advocate for her, but I need the help of medical doctors and a damn good attorney to do this. Someone out there is a person who is reading this who can help me, or knows of someone who can, please consider it, and send me a message. If my daughter is to waste away, in a jail cell, it should not be for committing a minor crime, I see this as injustice and a flaw in our legal system.
