Justice for Eli Wester The worst day of my life was September 4th. It was just another day me and Eli woke up and i set him on the couch with some cartoons on while I got my first cup of coffee for the day. Doug was up and gave our little man a kiss as he headed off to work. just another day. I took him to the sitter, a queensbury woman who watched children in her home almost across the street from my work at the health center. just another day. Then at 10 oclock i got a phone call from this woman telling me my son was not acting him self. i left work then and drove the few hundred yards to her home. I found her cleaning up the floor. Eli was lying on the couch lifeless. i tried to get him to show any sign of life by rubbing his sternum but he was gone. She dint even say a word to me. I put Eli in the front seat of the car and drove like a mad woman back to the health center to his doctor. The doctor and the squad wanted to call an air lift from the pediatricians office but the helicopter would be delayed. so we went to the Glensfalls hospital where a great group of people went to work. The greatest man i have ever meet, the head neurosurgeon at the hospital said they could not wait the 20 minutes for the life flight and he went in to surgery where he removed the blood and a part of my 3 year old sons brain. as soon as he was done they loaded my little man in to a helicopter for a 50,000 ride to albany med. to all the people at albany med i love you. We spent the next month in the picu. the icu for kids. it was one on one care. They never let us know but they did not think he would make it threw the first few nights . it was weeks before they would even say he was critically stable and might live. weeks. we just watched the machines that kept our son alive. So now 4 months later Eli is home, he cant walk and he may never have use of his right arm from the stroke the injury to his brain caused. half his brain is dead or damaged but he has been able to learn to speak in short sentences. he is happy and we are just glad he chose to stay. but the police dont seem to be taking this very seriously they just had me sign the releases so they could see the medical records . 3 and a half months later! they never even spoke to the saratoga county cps officer who has indicated the day care provider for child abuse. worst of all the DA says that she is not sure if they will be able to press charges. We need to get this on the news and we need your help please share this and link it to any news source. a paper or tv, radio send them a email or even better a letter. We have been trying since the beginning. any help is better than nothing for a 3 year old little boy who is fighting just to have the chance to grow up. Please share so all can help. https://facebook/groups/1609054615985212/?pnref=lhc
