K... I just had an idea and Id like my Facebook peeps to help flesh it out.... Kids take Drama in school and think its fun. Some do anyway. Many dont bother to take it, for a variety of reasons. But wouldnt it be great, if I could host a Drama related Job Fair Day where people who had great, exciting and fulfilling work that somehow related to Drama/Theatre could come in and each have a table or 15 minutes or something to tell the kids why Drama would have/did help them to become what they now are. For example: Anyone who does any form of public speaking Including but not limited to Radio personalities, DJs, Voice Over artists, etc. Anyone who holds any position in the tech world of theatre Including but not limited to Stage Managers, Production Managers, Costumers, Make-Up Designers, Fabricators, Prop Builders, Etc. etc. Anyone who works in the offices of arts related organizations i.e. box office, marketing, budgets... grants... I dont know... So... help me out here. If this happened - what should it look like? Who should participate - as presenter and audience and what format would you recommend? What sort of people would you want to see there presenting? One day event? Afternoon? Keynote? Or just short presentations? Have a passport to complete and give prizes for the most locations visited? Brainstorm here people.... Go.
