K so last time when i said i may let you know what unbelievers - TopicsExpress

K so last time when i said i may let you know what unbelievers think from time to time, but only to show you how their train of thought is wrong & goes against scripture/ the heart of God. - i forgot to mention that from time to time i will give you a mans saying when it agrees with the bible also; like Paul did here - Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. - i do my best to always let you know that it is a mans saying when i repeat it. For example there is a mans saying that goes Do unto others as you would have them do unto you & that is saying pretty much the same thing as two thirds of this scripture - Mt 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Also when i said God is alive & constantly giving us new blessings today - i forgot to give you this scripture - 68 Ps 19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. Ok so we are headed into the Mosaic feasts section; aside from verse 3 dealing with the (weekly) sabbath; i may have already told you that i am heavy into the Rom 14 camp that thinks that NT Gentile believers are not required to do anything about these upcoming feasts; however because this is a verse by verse, chapter by chapter study of the bible we are not going to skip them, so perhaps we will learn something, like if the Lord wills - how they are prophecies of Jesus. Lev 23:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. 3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. So YHVH tells Moses to tell everyone (unlike chapter 22 where he was commanded just to pass that information to Aaron & his sons) that the feasts of YHVH are to be holy convocations: 4744 מִקְרָא [miqra’ /mik·raw/] n m. From 7121; TWOT 2063d; GK 5246; 23 occurrences; AV translates as “convocation” 19 times, “assemblies” twice, “calling” once, and “reading” once. 1 convocation, convoking, reading, a calling together. 1a convocation, sacred assembly. 1b convoking. 1c reading. - so church services are expected to be held during them where Gods word will be read to all the people considered clean according to the rules in the previous chapters, while the unclean are not allowed to participate. So the interesting thing is that the sabbath; although no work is to be done in it by the general populace - the priests are expected to do their job & read the word to the people - so this enforces my thought that we are to work for God every day & there should be no excuses about taking a rest on the sabbath from doing the will of God because working for God is not considered work or else it would be forbidden. So perhaps my custom of taking saturday off from doing this study should be reconsidered. Amazing how God works, reminding me about doing my job on the sabbath by giving me this scripture to preach on a sabbath lol. So although no work is to be done, a reading of the word is to be done & it is the sabbath of YHVH in all our dwellings - so no matter where we go in this world people who claim to worship God should refrain from working for men & open their bibles on the sabbath. Also it is grouped with the feasts: 4150 מֹועֵד [mow`ed, mo`ed, mow`adah /mo·ade/] n m. From 3259; TWOT 878b; GK 4595; 223 occurrences; AV translates as “congregation” 150 times, “feast” 23 times, “season” 13 times, “appointed” 12 times, “time” 12 times, “assembly” four times, “solemnity” four times, “solemn” twice, “days” once, “sign” once, and “synagogues” once. 1 appointed place, appointed time, meeting. 1a appointed time. 1a1 appointed time (general). 1a2 sacred season, set feast, appointed season. 1b appointed meeting. 1c appointed place. 1d appointed sign or signal. 1e tent of meeting. - so food is barely in the definition; but gathering together is as this word was translated congregation more times than it was feast - also the bit about it being appointed looks important as God hallowed this day so it was appointed by Him as a time for us to come together & read His word. So the Seventh Day Adventists seem to be obeying this bit really well - i dont know anything else they preach, if it is any good or not; but it would not be a horrible thing if more bodies of believers copied their obedience in this issue. And having a group meal either before, during or after the reading of the word would not be a bad idea either - i bet the more churches that start up something like a sabbath pot luck service the more God would be pleased. Btw, where i am from a pot luck is when everyone who can afford to bring some food does & the poor eat for free; some or most of the time there will be some coordination between the people providing the food so everybody doesnt bring the same thing. So next time we will get into more details about the passover that we already seen done at least once back in Exodus 12 & Ex 34:25 has a rule concerning it also.
