K, tried to go to bed 2 hours ago then I remembered.... On Friday I took my paycheck (if thats what ya wanna call it lol) to Advance America to get a prepaid card and get direct deposit set up. We called the card company from the store and they requested a copy of my social security card and drivers license, which we promptly faxed to them. Money will be available in 24 hours. Called Saturday morning to activate my card (keep in mind, this has absolutely nothing to do with Advance America). At this point they tell me they need to verify my address with a utility bill. I rush out the door to take one to Advance America. We fax that, along with the documents we had faxed one day before. Money will be available in 24 hours. Got a voice mail Sunday while I was sleeping saying some jibberish in a heavy Middle Eastern accent (no offense to my middle eastern friends) so I just called them hoping to speak to someone that I could understand. No such luck. Soooo, as I was getting in bed today, it dawned on me that I need to call Advance America and let the great lady that has been helping me with this, Melinda know that I still didnt have access to my money. She called them on the other phone and had me on speaker so I could hear them. The problem, or so it seems to them, was the bill that Melinda faxed (top portion only) didnt have a billing date on it and they would require a bill with a current date. So, me in my pajamas and slippers, I trudge back up there to take her this info. I had an insurance premium, electric bill, and a cable bill. She faxed everything, including what we had already faxed over the past few days and then we called asking for a supervisor. Melinda was on hold for approx 20 min when I decided to call from my cell phone. I got thru to a supervisor before she did... She spoke as she was me and said that I would just have my attorney get in touch with them. The supervisor, named Echo ( the other reps we talked to were Nick and Sam, I believe, heavy accents, keep that in mind) told her/me that he would do all that was necessary to have my money that has been held since Friday released..... Wait for it..... WITHIN 24 HOURS! OMG! It was a 3 day check for 140.00!!! Not millions coming for a Swiss bank account! WTF! Are you kidding me? Im exhausted..... Past my bed time! That is all.... Pissed!
