K10m compo demand and threat to close LNG road – villagers Anger rages tonight among Hanuabadans and many city residents as villagers come to terms with the sudden death of a relative as a result of alleged police shooting today. Many described it as a battleground between armed police and unarmed villagers. The other two injured men remain in hospital tonight, one requiring surgery. One of the two is a grandson of senior statesman, Dadi Toka. Villagers are demanding K10 million in compensation, all haus krai and funeral costs, including medical expense for the deceased and the two injured to be met by Police. They’ve also threatened to stop access to the LNG Plant site and disrupt the July Pacific Games if their demands are not met.
