KANE Cornes has been granted life membership of the AFL. He was among 10 players to automatically qualify for the merit during the 2014 AFL season. A player or coach qualifies for AFL life membership after participating in a combined 300 games. Cornes has played 293 premiership games, 26 pre-season games and one state game (in the 2008 Hall of Fame Tribute Match). The veteran midfielder is also set to become Port Adelaides first 300-gamer in the AFL. In doing so, he will join Port legends Russell Ebert, Greg Phillips and Tim Ginever in playing more than 300 first-class club games
