KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Deputy Secretary General Imran Ismail held corruption and lawlessness responsible for undermining the system. He criticized existing government for previous-government-like performance. In a statement broadcasted by PTI Central Media Center Karachi, Imran Ismail said, “Loans on terms of IMF and World Bank would further weaken our national economy. In order to do well, Federal Government needs to take revolutionary steps whereas improvisation in tax collection system is indispensable. Government has been wandering around IMF and World Bank since they had failed in collecting taxes.” Imran demanded fair tax collection and insisted government to revise policies regarding agricultural tax. He continued, “Setting fiscal policies on signals from international economic institutes and promoting corrupt political culture had been major causes of Pakistan’s social decline. Government had already failed in keeping the promises made during election campaign. If they go on with the unchanged behavior, it would become unfeasible to address financial and energy crisis.” PTI leader demanded Federal Government to cut down their extravagant expenses and bring their millions of dollars back to Pakistan so as to support the national economy.
