KARACHI: The final list of the officers ranging from Grade-17-19 of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) would be finalized this week and transfers and postings of the Customs officers are likely to be notified by the end of this week. Sources in the Ministry of Finance told fbr times that the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had invited a lot of opposition and dismay from the ministers and parliamentarians of the ruling party i.e. his own party, as Dar did not consider the recommendations pertaining to the postings of officers. Sources said that there was s strong recommendation that a Grade-20 officer posted in Quetta be given the office of Collector MCC Port Qasim; but Surayya Butt was posted as Collector MCC Port Qasim who is the best possible substitute of Dr. Agha Jawwad, who has gone for training. Sources rejected all the rumors regarding transfer of Tariq Bajwa, Chairman FBR. Sources said that Tariq Bajwa, Member Customs Nisar Mohammad Khan and DG Customs Intelligence Lutfullah Virk have been assigned certain targets by the Finance Minister. Moreover, posts are being created for Additional Collectors in Appraisement South to accommodate the recently promoted officers while a number of Additional Collectors would be posted in different Directorates. It was learnt that Additional Collector Shafqat Niazi and Assistant Collector Wasif Malik of MCC Preventive would stay on their posts because of extra ordinary performance and recommendation of Collector Preventive Tariq Huda while Sadia Sheraz might be transferred in Appraisement-West. Similarly the team long posted in WeBOC project comprising of Additional Collectors Aftab Haider, Farrukh Sajjad, Azhar Merchant, Amir Rasheed Shaikh and Deputy Collector Naveed Memon is likely to be moved to Port Qasim, Appraisement-West and Appraisement-East. Additional Collectors Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi, Zeba Bashir and Deputy Collector Yasir are being considered to be posted in WeBOC Project. Assistant Collector Shoib Raza, Falik sher, Imran Afzal are likely to be posted in Preventive Collectorate. Sources said that Additional Collectors Irfan Javed and Ahsan Ali Shah are likely to stay in their officers at MCC Port Qasim while Additional Collectors Fayyaz Rasool, Nayyar Shafiq and Deputy Collector Ghulam Nabi Kambo, Faisal Khan and Assistant Collectors Yusuf Magsi, Akbar Jan are also likely to stay in the their offices at MCC Appraisement-West. It was also learnt that PCS officers from Hyderabad would also be posted in different Directorates and Collectorates in Karachi.
