KARMA COME by Paul Ludenia Forward: I am relieved, to be completed with this song and to share it with you... I know what youre thinking, Relieved? Why relieved? Well, normally, I would use an adjective such as excited, thrilled, or some other happy word, but not this time... You see, I had most of this music written before I really had an idea on what I was to sing about, but I was trying to come up with something inspirational, heartfelt, honest yet hopeful... That was until the day I saw the photo of my friend, Maggie, brutally beaten by the person she was so dearly in love with... Blood, bruises and broken bones... Her poor heart... I needed to get this out of my system, so, the music has been hijacked for this abomination instead of something more loving. Im always disappointed when I feel I have to write a song about these types of issues - but, maybe, just maybe, it can help... Maybe it can bring attention. Maybe it can educate. Maybe it can help someone realize they are not alone. Maybe, it can stop someone from doing the same thing to someone... If I had it my way, I swear, I would only write love songs... Sigh... But, with the tremendous pain and anger I felt about this horrific event, I trudged forward, writing the lyrics as a sort-of letter to him (Id rather not even type his name... So, Ill just call this unhuman being, him), while waiting ever-so-impatiently for Karma to come and get him... To do what Karma does to people who abuse other people... To do what Karma does to so-called men, that beat 50 year old, kind-hearted and gentle women... The lyrics touch on the fact that I accepted him into my circle, shook his hand, and loved him because he so dearly loved, or at least seemed to love, my wonderful, warm-hearted, kind friend, Maggie. It hurt my heart to see this - I can never truly imagine how Maggie feels, inside, as well as outside... So I did the best thing I know how to do. Write a song. And with that, I hope to bring attention to Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). Please educate yourself and learn how to stop intimate partner violence (IPV) before it begins (i.e., primary prevention) here: cdc.gov/violenceprevention/intimatepartnerviolence/index.html Be well, and please, please, please - be kind to one another... So I can go back to writing love songs! Paul~ ---- KARMA COME by Paul Ludenia ...For Maggie... ...To him... (c) Copyright 2013+. Paul Ludenia Music. All Rights Reserved. --- 5, 4, 3, 2...
