KBF Pushes for Cameras in Court Lusaka lawyer Kelvin Bwalya says there is no law that prohibits filming of court proceedings in Zambia. Speaking during the Justice Frederick Chomba judicial reforms commission, Bwalya said even the much emphasized contempt case when a mobile phone rings in court was absurd. He said the filming of proceedings in court by television crews would enhance transparency in the dispensation of justice. Bwalya cited the highly publicized case of disgraced South African athlete Oscar Pistorious where the case has been beamed live across the globe. He said judges had instilled so much fear in the public such that television stations were scared of carrying cameras in court for fear of contempt charges.
