KBST News was on the scene of an accident last evening involving Mayor Larry McLellan. Here is the official press release from the Big Spring Police Department: Media Release October 21st 2014 Big Spring Police Department On the 20th of October 2014 at approximately 6:20 P.M., Big Spring Police Department Officers were dispatched to 11th and Scurry in reference to a vehicle and pedestrian accident. Upon officers arrival, the driver of the vehicle was found to be City of Big Spring Mayor Larry McLellan and the pedestrian was found to be Big Spring resident Robert Pullin W/M DOB 4/5/46. Pullin had sustained head injuries and was flown from the scene by helicopter to Odessa Medical Center for treatment. Due to Mr. McLellan’s position with the City of Big Spring and potential seriousness of injury sustained by Mr. Pullin, it is the Big Spring Police Department’s protocol to request the assistance of the Department of Public Safety with the investigation of the accident. DPS was contacted and responded at which time the investigation was turned over to them. The Department of Public Safety is the lead investigating agency on this accident and any further inquiries into the accident will be directed to DPS Public Information Officer Elaina Miramontes at 432-498-2174.
