#KCTRAFFIC College Boulevard Traffic Shift TRAFFIC ALERT for Saturday, September 27 in Johnson County >> #jocogateway TRAFFIC SHIFT: Eastbound and westbound College Boulevard traffic from Ridgeview Road to Renner Boulevard will shift lanes to the eastbound lanes (one new lane/one existing lane) beginning this Saturday, September 27. Traffic will be placed one lane each direction. The eastbound lane will be moved to the south onto the new pavement. The westbound lane will remain in its current location. The new configuration will allow for work to be done in both the middle and north side of College. This traffic shift is needed to allow for continued construction work to widen the westbound lanes of College Boulevard. Once this traffic shift has been completed, both Penrose Street and Ambassador Street traffic will have right turn only access onto College Boulevard. See aerial maps below. Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via signage and cones. Drivers should expect delays through the project work zone during on College Boulevard. The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone. Construction work on College Boulevard between Ridgeview Road and Renner Boulevard is scheduled to be complete in late November 2014, weather permitting.
